Spellbound

Make a magical horror movie this October Half Term!
‘Spellbound’ is a half term movie making camp for children at TASIS only, and for grades 2-4.

Over three movie making workshop days, young movie makers devise and produce their own production, full of special effects wizardry.

It’s an action-packed few days, designed to inspire creativity, imagination and fill the holidays with a sense of magical mischief.
The children work as a film crew, taking on all the crew roles behind the camera, as well as all the starring roles onscreen. As well as learning how to produce a movie, they’ll explore how to produce lots of magical visual effects, as well as how to craft a horror movie. The end result will be a spellbinding movie production to share with family and friends.
On the last day, there is a special presentation for the children to share their work with family and friends. Everyone receives a copy of the movie to enjoy at home and to add to their portfolios.

Qualified Staff

The camps are led by our specialist team of filmmaking workshop leaders. Every Sparks team member takes part in specific training for programme delivery and child safeguarding. Everyone has an enhanced DBS check and follows our Ofsted approved practices and policies.

Within the team there is a mix of professional filmmaking and arts education backgrounds. We all enjoy working with young people and love to inspire the next generation.

Small Group Sizes

The young filmmakers work in small groups (max 16 children of peer ages).

Our small group sizes mean that we are able to get to know each of the young filmmakers well. Every child receives personalised attention and support from a dedicated instructor.

High Staff Ratios

Our staff ratios are typically at least 1:8, in practice this is often higher, especially with younger filmmakers.

The children are well supervised throughout the summer camps, which helps us to bring out their potential and learning, as well as bring added peace of mind for child safeguarding.
