About Sparks Dorking
Sparks Dorking was established in 2020 and is based in Surrey.
We welcome young film makers to our fun film classes and school holiday camps! Our main aim is to encourage and inspire creativity and confidence in children and teenagers, aged 7-18 and to help them develop their skills in film making.
We meet every Saturday at Oakfield School, Fetcham, where over the course of 10 weeks, young film-makers collaborate and produce exciting, fun-filled movies. In the school holidays, half term camps offer children and teenagers the chance to unlock their creativity, gain new skills and discover the fun of movie making.
Group sizes are small (max. 12) for all our workshops, with high staff ratios to provide a high quality experience. All Sparks instructors are trained and DBS-checked.
Sparks Dorking is an OFSTED approved provider which means that classes and camps can be booked using Childcare Vouchers or the Childcare Choices platform. Please contact us below to set up a Childcare Voucher account.
“Hi, I’m Mark from Sparks Dorking…
I am driven by a passion for the moving image and I take inspiration from the creativity and imagination of the children I teach. Through our film making classes and half term camps at Sparks Dorking, I hope to further inspire them.
Kids see the world in unique ways and their imaginations know no limits. Providing them with the tools and skills to unlock their creativity is both a privilege and a joy. Film making should be fun so by encouraging their passions and helping them to discover their skills, we will be nurturing the story makers of the future.
I have been teaching media and film for over 20 years; as well as having had extensive experience working in the film and TV industries. All the team here at Sparks Dorking have a wealth of skills and knowledge to share with young film makers and we’re all passionate about helping them to develop their skills and creativity.
I aim to make Sparks Dorking part of the local community, with film making activities for children and parents in Dorking and Surrey. I’d love to welcome you along to experience all the fun of the film set with us soon.
