Sparks Film Making Classes are Back! Hooray!

From September, Sparks film making classes will reopen to young movie makers. We can’t wait to welcome both familiar faces and newcomers to the Autumn term of film making classes at Sparks!

This term, young film makers are set to explore a brand new theme – The Art of Perception. Alongside encouraging all our class members to boost their fundamental filmmaking skills, this term’s film making classes will explore specific techniques in how to use perspective and point-of-view in their camera work and in their storytelling. We’ll take a leaf from Inception’s book with a delve into visual effects. We’ll also have a look at French Impressionistic styling techniques.

For each new term, we explore a brand new theme, which helps members of our film making classes to continually develop their film making skills and knowledge. Some of our other recent themes include It’s All About the Atmosphere and Feel Good Films.

We’re excited for this theme, which will challenge the film class members visually, technically and creatively. In their studio groups, they’ll each produce a unique film project in response to them theme, with each studio choosing their favourite elements to include. Every film is always unique and celebrates the groups creativity – we can’t wait to see what they come up with this autumn!

Introducing the Sparks Awards!

This term also sees the long-awaited introduction of the Sparks Awards to film making classes. The Sparks Awards are a new programme of progressive awards to recognise the development of film making skills and know-how as members of Sparks film making classes progress from Studio 1 through to Studio 5. There will be new levels within each studio for Sparks members to work towards during their film making classes, with an award attached to each level.

We’re so excited to launch the scheme and can’t wait to start awarding all the hard work and creativity that the film class members put into their projects and learning.

Film making classes are available at most Sparks film schools and are open for registration.

Classes start up from September and run through until the December holidays.
