Filmmaking Classes – Autumn Term Starts 26 September 2020
We are so (soooo) excited to be starting back for a brand new term of filmmaking classes!
Our weekly classes for young filmmakers help to inspire imaginations, build creativity and develop new skills. Our last weekly classes took place in March and we have missed seeing our students so much. We can’t wait to welcome them back from Saturday.
We’ve been able to reopen most filmmaking classes at our Balham and Highgate branches.
Classes start back from this Saturday at La Retraite School (Balham) and Highgate Primary School (Highgate), with spaces available for ages 7+. We recommend taking a look at each individual location for timetables and availability. (See locations here >>>)
We’re hopeful to soon be able to reopen classes in Hampstead and Dulwich too. We’re keen to welcome all our filmmakers back as soon as possible, but rely on our venue partners, who are also working hard to make sure their spaces are as safe as possible.
We’ll continue to update, but in the meantime, we hope you’re able to join us in either Balham or in Highgate.
Feel Good Films:
This term, we’re making Feel Good Films. We want to make some movies that uplift and inspire and help to make us all feel a bit warm and fuzzy after the last few months.
We’ll be drawing inspiration from classics including Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Mrs Doubtfire and Back to the Future, as well as movie musicals and towards the end of term, some festive films too. Young filmmakers taking part will explore techniques to show off comedy, as well as how to create heartwarming scenes of fun and joy.
We can’t wait to get started. We know we’re going to see some special productions this term and plenty of imagination.
We know we have a big responsibility to keep all our yougn filmmakers, families and our team safe and well.
As an organised activity provider, we’re exempt from the ‘Rule of Six’, but we are still making every effort to make sure our classes are Covid-19 secure.
Our measures include working with small class sizes, with distancing and consisent group monitoring, as well as the use of PPE (our team will all be wearing transparent visors, as well as gloves and makss for close contact situations like First Aid), and one way travel systems. You can find our full list of measures here >>>
Safety is always really important for us, so we’ll be doing everything we can to make sure our students and our team are safe.
Most classes are oversubscribed, but if you are interested to join in, then please get in touch with us.
We’re happy to offer free trial classes wherever we have availability, or where we can open up additional classes/groups then we will.
We know the last six months have been incredibly hard to children and young people. We want to provide any opportunities we can to help them re-engage and reconnect, or to help them find a new interest to develop.
If you’d like to come along, or if you’d like to know more, please get in touch >>>
