Blockbuster Bootcamp

Technical Film Skills Half Term Club

Studio 4: Ages 11-14

In these half term clubs, young film makers are set to boost all their technical filmmaking skills.

Members of this half term club will take part in practical workshops on screenwriting, directing, cinematography and acting for camera.

They’ll spend some time brushing up on all their practical skills, before applying them to their own unique film sequences, which they can add to their showreels or portfolios.

Half Term Clubs: What Happens?

In Sparks February half term clubs, young filmmakers dive into an action-packed filmmaking workshop.

It’s all about creative learning, with the chance to build skills and confidence through practical, hands on filmmaking and working on real life film projects.

Our team of specialist filmmaking facilitators guide the crew members to produce their own unique film production.

Crew members express their ideas and devise their own stories and scripts. They also step into all the professional crew roles you find on a real life film set. They  direct, shoot and crew their productions, and for everyone who enjoys acting, they can star in front of the camera too.

Everyone taking part takes away lots of new experiences and newfound knowledge about film making. It’s a great way to make new friends and discover new talents.

The crew members love taking ownership over their production. They enjoy working together as a crew to shape it into something special and unique.

At the end of the workshop, the crews proudly share their work with you.

Creative Learning at Sparks Filmmaking Half Term Clubs

All the filmmaking workshop activities during half term clubs are hands-on and practical.

Crew members are at the heart of all the activity and get stuck into practical film making straight away.

Our team of specialist filmmaking facilitators help the crews to think creatively, develop their skills and to produce their own movie from scratch.

There is plenty of equipment for each crew and opportunity for everyone to contribute towards the different production areas (e.g. scriptwriting, acting, or editing). Everyone who wants to act can star in front of the camera, as well as taking part behind the scenes.

We welcome along any level of experience. Our team are all highly experienced and ensure everyone is working at the right level.
