Welcome to the Summer Shoots in Hampstead!
It’s the last Hampstead Summer Shoot of 2019 and movie makers are getting stuck into their movie making projects!
Summer Shoots are action-packed movie making summer camps for ages 5-18. All this week, young movie makers are working on their own unique productions. In small film crews, they’ll be writing their own scripts, shooting the footage and editing their masterpieces! At the end of the week, there is a sharing event for family and later on we’ll celebrate their productions at the annual red carpet premiere!
Today, the young crews have been getting to grips with some of the fundamentals of movie making.
They’ve been working in small groups to produce short sequences, which explore this year’s theme of “The Stuff of Dreams and Nightmares.” They’ve been exploring different shot types, as well as how to frame and compose certain camera shots and angles. Alongside lots of camera skills, they have also been developing skills as directors and exploring acting for camera techniques too.
Tomorrow the crews will set about devising their final storylines. They will pitch their ideas and decide on their film as a group, before storyboarding and lots of pre-production tasks.
They only have until Friday to complete their productions. Good luck to all the crews taking part! We can’t wait to celebrate your finished movie productions!
